Dr. Elna Johnson is the founder of Optimal Performance Clinic and the architect of its clinical system—Diagnose. Treat. Perform.
With over 20 years of experience in elite sport and high-performance environments, she has worked within integrated medical and performance teams across the NBA, NFL, CFL, NHL, MLS, and Olympic sport, including her role with Athletics Canada’s National Track and Field Team.
Her expertise in musculoskeletal diagnosis, running biomechanics, and performance therapy has been developed through years of working alongside coaches, strength staff, and medical teams at the highest level.
Her clinical approach combines detailed movement analysis, hands-on treatment—including Active Release Techniques—and individualized rehabilitation, selecting the most effective strategy based on each patient’s needs.
She is part of the team delivering performance therapy at Optimal Performance Clinic, working with professional athletes and active individuals to optimize movement, resilience, and overall performance.
At Optimal Performance Clinic, Dr. Johnson leads the clinical framework used by all musculoskeletal clinicians and performance therapists. This ensures that every patient—regardless of who they see—receives the same standard of precise diagnosis, effective treatment, and performance-focused rehabilitation used in professional sport.
